27% of French people have already considered development issues in their decision-making process during an election.
This is mainly reported by left-leaning voters (39%), unlike supporters of the center (28%) or the right (24%), who are significantly less likely to consider poverty or development when voting.
These figures show us that the fight against poverty appears more as a question of “intangible value” (of the left) than as a determining factor in the context of a national political choice.
This data comes from our survey conducted by the YouGov Institute and piloted by the research team at University College London and Birmingham University as part of the project Aid Attitudes Tracker which measures the evolution of opinions and behaviors on issues of international solidarity in four countries.
